Radium Psychology’s mission is to help high functioning professionals achieve peak performance without burning out and without compromising areas of life beyond work that bring happiness and fulfillment. Success in life demands that you look within yourself to make the kind of changes required for your next level and if that is not taken seriously, you will never move past average. Sustainable peak performance requires a strategic approach that goes beyond insight and awareness of problems. Insight without action and the right interventions and strategies leads to repeating the same thoughts, patterns and behaviours with no resolution. Whether you're striving to enhance leadership effectiveness, sustain peak performance, overcome mental barriers to success, or prevent burnout, Radium Psychology provides evidence-based strategies and high-level performance optimization work to help create success that is sustainable.

About Kris
What is Kris' Personality and what does she bring to her sessions?
Who is Kris?

A combination of psychologist, business owner and a free spirit. She has a Master of Arts in Counseling from Yorkville University and BSc. In Psychology with a Minor in Business from University of Alberta. She has over 10 yrs of experience in mental health field as well as 3 yrs of experience in the in the financial services industry. With her combination of experience in both psychology and finance, she understands the pressures of high-performance environments:
-the late nights, anxiety, burn out, self-doubt, inability to shut your mind after work, relationship strain, overthinking decisions, fear of making costly mistakes and disappointing others, perfectionism that drive success but also creates stress, loneliness at the top, fear that everything will fall apart if you slow down and wondering whether the current pace of functioning is sustainable long term…you name it, she has been through it all, which is why she decided to pivot Radium Psychology early on in her private practice career to help high functioning professionals such as herself navigate the rough waters of functioning in high stress careers and demanding professional roles.

Note from Kris:

I am known for my warmth, confidence, competence and ability to make people laugh in session.
Common comments I get from my clients "You are so real."
I am very direct and will tell you what you need to hear, of course with warmth and empathy. I value being honest with clients even if they may not like hearing what I have to say because it is in their best interest. I am passionate about bringing value to clients' lives and I believe that is one of the biggest reason I have been able to succeed in this profession combined with leading with my heart.

My sessions are structured and high impact, focused on providing value for the time and money you are investing in the most important asset: YOU. While there is space for talking and processing emotions, the sessions are mainly focused on utilizing evidence-based interventions that help provide you with the results and outcomes you are looking for. That said, I do keep in mind that some clients prefer a more flexible format that involves more talk therapy, processing emotions combined with evidence-based interventions that drive change and growth. Given that every client is different, I strive to remain as flexible and adaptable as possible with the caveat that we do not lose sight of what you came to session for. While my approach is grounded in evidence-based psychology, I also value the role of intuition, self-awareness, and meaning-making in personal and professional growth. Over the years, I have found that harnessing my spiritual side has helped clients connect patterns, perspectives, and insights that may not be immediately obvious but has led to powerful breakthroughs and lasting change. For clients who value a more reflective or spiritually informed approach, I am happy to incorporate those perspectives into our work in a way that aligns with their beliefs, goals, and preferences.

Outside of work, I recharge by slowing down and creating space to think and reflect. I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, dancing, travelling, and exploring great food.
I operate on a deliberately compressed schedule that prioritizes quality of care over quantity. This allows me to provide each client with the attention, preparation, and support necessary to achieve meaningful results. As a result, appointment availability is limited to ensure that I can consistently deliver the highest level of care and maximize the value of your time and investment.

The story behind Radium Psychology.
-Many people thought the word “Radium” was strange for a psychology practice but as with all businesses and brands, there is a story behind it. I visited Radium Hot springs for the first time a few years ago during a particularly challenging time in my life. I had a heart to heart with my dad there. He listened. No advice. Just presence. I felt heard. I came out of Radium Hot springs that day feeling strangely renewed and with a deep conviction that I can overcome any challenge in life in the face of painful circumstances. At the time, I was looking for a name for my practice and decided to name it Radium Psychology, which I believe is apt because of the healing power of water. I have a deep connection with water, particularly the ocean. Water is powerful. Nothing can stop the force of water…. anything in the way is moved out of its path. I liken this to overcoming obstacles, remaining fluid in the face of life’s challenges and remembering that a tidal wave of goodness is always on your way after the storm passes 😊
